Standard Homestead Exemption
Allows low-income senior citizens and permanently,
totally disabled Ohioans to reduce their property tax bills by shielding
some of the market value of their homes from taxation.
Qualification Requirements
Disabled Veterans Expanded Homestead Exemption
Available for military veterans who have
been determined to have a permanent, total service-connected disability
(or surviving spouse of a person who applied for and qualified
in the year of death).
We are now working with the Veteran Service Office of Medina. You will need to complete the Application of Summary of Benefits Letter along with the Homestead DTE 105i forms. Both forms can be accepted at the Auditor's Office or the Veteran Service Office.

Surviving Spouses of Public Service Officers Killed in the Line of Duty
Homestead Exemption
Available for the widow or widower of a peace officer,
firefighter, or other emergency responder who dies in the line of duty
or by an injury or illness sustained in the line of duty. This reduction
allows $50,000 of the market value of the property to be exempted from
taxes, which will show as a credit on property tax bills.
